Tulsi, Lemongrass + Butterfly Pea come together in this Late Summer Medicine of Place for body, mind + spirit. Enjoy its brilliant blue as it is, or add a squeeze of lemon and watch your cup transform.
The garden doesn’t simply end one season and begin another.
It transforms. And neither do we.
In the Liminal emerged in the space between Summer and Fall — when the garden was still abundant with summer medicine, even as I could feel the season beginning to shift.
Three plants growing abundantly became this tea:
Lemongrass for the body.
Bright + aromatic, inviting us back into our senses and embodiment.
Butterfly Pea for the mind.
Cooling, deeply blue + traditionally used in support of memory and cognition.
Tulsi for the spirit.
A beloved plant in my garden that continually invites me toward presence, resilience + devotion.
Together, they make a tea that is honestly just delicious — bright, aromatic + naturally lovely without needing to be sweetened.
But there is another little bit of medicine waiting in the cup.
Watch it transform.
Steep the tea covered and watch the water become a brilliant blue.
Pause.
Smell it. Taste it as Summer made it.
Then add a squeeze of lemon.
The blue begins to shift toward violet + purple right before your eyes.
The medicine doesn’t stop being what it was. It changes expression in response to its environment.
And perhaps there is something for us in that, too.
